This Privacy Policy explains what information ventureora.com collects, why, who else is involved, and what control you have. Ventureora is an independent camping gear review publisher. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run a shop, so we never handle your payment details.
Who we are
Ventureora publishes this website and is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy by email at ventureora@gmail.com or through our contact page.
This policy is written to meet the requirements that apply across the markets we publish for, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union and EEA, Canada and Australia. Where a right or protection applies only in one of those places, we say so.
Information you give us
- Contact messages. If you write to us, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message.
- Email subscription. If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address and the date you subscribed, so we can prove consent and send what you asked for.
- Comments. If commenting is open and you leave one, WordPress stores the name, email address, website and comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent, which helps with spam detection.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our host records requests to the site, including IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, browser and operating system. These are ordinary security and diagnostic records.
- Usage data. Which pages are read, how far down, which comparison tools are completed and which links are followed, in aggregate.
- Gear Finder answers. When you use one of our finders, your answers are sent to our server so it can rank products against them. We log the answers and the category to improve the tool. We do not attach a name, an email address or an account to those answers.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Described in full in our Cookie Policy.

- To publish and operate the site, and to keep it secure and working.

- To send the emails you asked for, and to let you stop them.
- To understand in aggregate which guides and tools are useful, and to decide what to build and write next.

Affiliate links
When you follow a link to a retailer, that retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie so any purchase is credited to us. That tracking happens on the retailer’s domain, under the retailer’s privacy policy. We receive commission reports showing orders and amounts. We do not receive your name, your address or your payment details. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the site, and only for that purpose:
- our web host and its security and performance layers;
- our email delivery provider, for subscription emails;
- advertising and analytics partners, as described above;
- anyone we are legally required to disclose to, or need to disclose to in order to establish or defend a legal claim.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where personal information leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses with the provider.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not email you again by accident.
- Comments: indefinitely, so conversations stay readable, unless you ask us to remove yours.
- Server logs: a short rolling window set by our host, typically weeks rather than months.
- Gear Finder answers: retained in aggregate, without identifiers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise any of these by writing to us through our contact page. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the UK or EEA and you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to whom it is disclosed, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Where advertising cookies amount to sharing under California law, the opt-out routes above and any cookie preferences control on the site are how you exercise that right, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal where it applies.
If you are in Canada, you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it, and you may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits. If our response does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles give you the right to ask for access to your personal information and to ask us to correct it. If you think we have mishandled it, please raise it with us first, and then, if you are still unhappy, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, or under 13 where that is the applicable threshold. If you believe a child has given us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to the administration area is restricted and protected, and software is kept up to date. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects you and the law requires notice.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
